Blessing Bags For The Homeless

The outreach committee will be collecting articles for blessing bags to be given to the homeless and families in need. Collections will be made for a couple of weeks and the bags will be assembled by the youth. Extra items will be donated to Helping Hands or the downtown mission. We are collecting the following items.

Items to go in the bags, such as:
Gallon size Ziploc bags
Chap Stick
Packages of tissues
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Comb
Soap
Trail mix
Granola bars
Crackers
Pack of gum
Band aids
Mouthwash
Coins (could be used to make a phone call, or purchase a food item)
Hand wipes
A warm pair of socks
Small stretch gloves
Starbucks gift card

Help Needed For Preschool

We are looking for people that would be willing to donate their time and their animals for a day of supervised exploration at the preschool on June 21. Examples are: Rabbits, quail, goats, ponies, chicks, sheep, piglets, foals, and calves. If you think you can help please contact Heather, the Preschool Director at preschool@westviewumc.org. Ministry Teams Training Feb. 26, 1:30 p.m.

Everyone who volunteered for one or more of the ministries of our Mission in Ministries teams should attend this session. You will meet the other people on your teams and set procedures for how the ministry teams will operate.

Easter Cantata

“Come witness in song for the Lord by singing with the choir for the Easter cantata! If you would like to join the choir for the Palm Sunday presentation of “One Sacrifice”, choir practice is on Wednesday nights at 6:30. The rehearsals will begin with music from the cantata from 6:30 to 7:00 and then change over to rehearsal of music for Sunday mornings, stay for part or all; we would love to have you. It is a time of fellowship, song, and wonderful spirit-filled time with the Lord. Join us in this witness through inspiring music of the sacrifice our Lord made for us and the joyous celebration of the Risen One.”

WOW Outing

The W.O.W. (Women of Westview) group will be going to Dickson for our February 13th meeting. We plan to meet at the church at 10:30 to be at The Ace Diner by 11-11:15. This diner was recently featured on Tennessee Crossroads and given two thumbs up by members who have since scouted it out. There are also shops nearby for those who care to browse after lunch. We need to give them a head count by Wed. 2/8. Please RSVP to Karen Renner 799-9033. ALL ARE WELCOME!

Westview Wonderful Wednesdays!

Please come this Wednesday for the inaugural evening of our Wednesday evening activities for this school year!
• Supper at 5:45, $5 per person, maximum of $20 per single family.
• Bible study at 6:30 with Pastor Don
• Youth group and choir practice also at 6:30.

Labels for Education

For more than 30 years, Labels for Education has been awarding free educational equipment to schools in exchange for proofs of purchase from the Campbell family of brands. It’s a fun, easy program where students, families and members of the community work together for a common goal. The Outreach committee is collecting Labels for Education at Westview to assist local schools art programs. Please clip your UPC’s and place them in the red collection boxes that are placed around WUMC. Help our church help our community!

First Sunday Food Donations

The Outreach committee would like to remind everyone that each First Sunday they will be collecting food items for the Helping Hands of Fairview. Please bring Non-Perishable food of any type, diapers and formula. Items can be dropped off in the narthex receptacles or in the church library.
