This committee serves throughout the year to guide the church council on personnel matters (other than employed staff) and recruit, support, and recognize leaders and provide for their training so as to coordinate the leadership and service needs with the personnel of the congregation.

Through Christian education we invite people to be transformed as they are inspired and challenged to: know and experience God through Jesus Christ, claim and live God's promises, and grow and serve as Christian Disciples. The Education Work Area is responsible for the planning and oversight of the education program ministry of the church. This includes but is not limited to planning for all age-level Sunday school program, short-term Bible Studies, Disciple Bible Study, etc. The Education committee also helps to identify and train teachers and leaders

The committee that is responsible for the compilation of an annual budget which is submitted to the church council for review and adoption. It is also charged with responsibility for developing and implementing plans that will raise sufficient income to meet the budget and the administration of funds.
The committee on finance, elected annually by the charge conference upon recommendation by the committee on lay leadership or from the floor, is (according to the 2000 Discipline) composed of:
the chairperson
the pastor(s)
a lay member of the annual conference
the chairperson of the church council
the chairperson or representative of the committee on pastor-parish relations
a representative of the trustees to be selected by the trustees
the chairperson of the ministry group on stewardship
the lay leader
the financial secretary
the treasurer
the church business administrator
and other members to be added as the charge conference may determine

It is recommended that the chairperson of the committee on finance shall be a member of the church council. The financial secretary, treasurer, and church business administrator, if paid employees, shall be members without vote.

Responsible for the creation and distribution of our monthly newsletter. The newsletter (The Good Views) is compiled the last week of each month for the following month. Information for the newsletter can be submitted to the church office.

Responsible for the planning and oversight of the outreach functions of the church's ministry. This committee coordinates the congregation's participation in the community through ministries of compassion. This includes, but is not limited to, utility assistance, supplementing of pastoral care services, food, clothing, angel tree, coordinating Habitat for Humanity efforts, "Hometown Missions Day," transportation for the homebound to church activities, etc. This committee also enables to congregation to be involved with national and global mission initiatives.

Responsible for planning and enabling the church to be in ministry through special events and occasions surrounding Christmas (excluding the Hanging of the Greens) and Easter. Also includes preparations for the Thanksgiving Auction (meal to be handled by the Hospitality Committee). Plan quarterly fellowship activities for our congregation.

The liaison committee whose main function is support and enhancement of the staff-parish relationship. This is done through counsel, consultation, and evaluation. Among the SPR's responsibilities is recommendation of compensation to the Charge Conference. The SPR committee also assesses staffing needs as well as interpreting to the congregation the nature and function of the ministry.

Provides membership care including food, flower, and card ministry for the sick and bereaved.

Subject to the direction of the Charge Conference, the board of trustees shall have the supervision, oversight, and care of all real property owned by the local church and of all property and equipment acquired directly by the local church. The trustees are to review annually the adequacy of the property, liability, and crime insurance coverage on church-owned property, buildings, and equipment. In concert with the pastor, the trustees manage the use of the church facilities.

Responsible for the planning and oversight of the witness functions of the church's ministry:
Evangelism; spiritual formation; communications (not to include the newsletter); lay-speaking ministries; witnessing through the sharing of personal and congregational stories of the Christian faith, experience, and service.

This committee is responsible for working with the pastor in planning for and providing resources for the worship and stewardship ministry within the church. This includes but is not limited to the ongoing worship activities of the church (i.e. ushers/greeters, acolytes, paraments/banners, communion preparation, liturgical readers, drama, special music, etc.). This committee will also assist in planning special worship events (i.e. Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, etc.). Each year we will also include a Stewardship program to invite the congregation to respond to God's grace by giving of ourselves and our resources.
